Stockton High Street closure to buses

Part of Stockton High Street, between the two bus turning loops, will be closed to buses at the following times:

Wednesday 28 July
From 1900

Thursday 29 July
All day

Friday 30 July
All day

Saturday 31 July
All day

Sunday 1 August
All day

Please note that Riverside Road will be closed CONTINOUSLY from 1800 hours on Tuesday 27 July until 2000 hours on Tuesday 3 August, meaning that it cannot be used as an alternative route during High Street closures. Princess Diana Bridge will remain open.

Most of the arrangements are essentially the same as in recent years, in that the stops at the south end of the High Street will not be used by the majority of services.

Between approximately 1200 and 1300 on Saturday 31 July, and from 2100 on Sunday 1 August, special arrangements will be in place, whilst the Community Carnival and Festival Finale respectively are in progress. Further information is provided in a seperate section on this page.

The arrangements below will apply at all times when the High Street closures are in force, except during the Carnival and Finale, as noted above.

Stops at the South end of the High Street will only be used as detailed below:-

No change (Moorsbus & X61), but additionally, service 507 (from stand 9) and 7/7A/577 (from stands 7 & 11)

Services 17 & 517 will use this stand as normal. Service 17A will only use stand 14.

The references to temporary stops mean outside Regent Housewares & DIY (northbound) and opposite Regent Housewares & DIY (southbound), in Prince Regent Street.

NOTE : Service 507 at 1256 should wait until the south end of the High Street is accessible from 1300 and delay its departure from stand 3 (the normal stand during Festival road closures) until then.

Festival finale

The festival finale takes place from 9pm to Midnight on Sunday, 1 August 2010.

All services will continue to use only the north end loop, as per the main Festival arrangements, with the majority following the normal diversion routes. The exceptions are:

ARRIVA SERVICES

Service 15 towards Thornaby, from stand 13 via Church Road and Teesdale to Thornaby Station, then as normal route (stop at Chandler’s Wharf omitted)

Service 15 towards Roseworth via normal route to Thornaby Station, then via Teesdale and Church Road to Stockton High Street, stand 19, then normal route

STAGECOACH SERVICES

Services 36/37 towards Middlesbrough/Park End via normal route to Stockton High Street stand 23, then via Church Road, Teesdale, Thornaby Station, then normal route.

Services 36/37 towards Norton/Billingham normal route to Thornaby Station, then via Teesdale and Church Road to Stockton High Street stand 21, then normal route.

LEVEN VALLEY SERVICES

Service 577 Will depart only from Stand 13
