Electric Hotel in progress
THE countdown to the 23rd Stockton International Riverside Festival has started!
Six articulated lorries and a 40 tonne crane made their way through the streets of Stockton to park up on Church Road.
London production company Fuel are bringing their critically acclaimed Electric Hotel to SIRF and with the opening show on Wednesday night, today they had a hotel to build.
With hard hats and high-vis jackets donned, the crew got to work assembling six shipping containers to create Electric Hotel. In between hoisting the containers into place, the company and festival co-ordinator happily did interviews with the TV, radio and newspaper journalists who had been invited to come along and see the work in progress.
Tomorrow sees the arrival of the Spiegel Tent which is winging its way in a ferry over the Channel. It will make its home in Parish Gardens for the festival and Circus of Horrors will be taking up residence…more from them soon.
