THE Ping Pong project was conceived in 2009 by French street theatre company Le Muscle in partnership with TAC Festival in Spain to create opportunities for artistic exchanges between French and Spanish artists by supplying venue, production, technical and promotion management.
The project has now been extended to England and will allow the exchange of projects involving Festivals from various countries. The first of these exchanges will be between Stockton International Riverside Festival and Cratere Surface Festival of Ales (France) in July/August 2010.
The French acts that will be pinging their way to this years SIRF festival include Les Apostrophes, 1 Watt, Les Ateliers Denino, La Ratatouille Theatre and Ex Nihilo. They will bring a snapshot of two cultures expressed on the street.
